Nashwan Manounah, Senior Pastor
I was born in Iraq but grew up in the Northeast of England. My family moved to Birmingham in 2012, which was the year the Lord saved me. I studied aerospace engineering in Swansea and during that time the Lord continued to mould me into the image of Christ and gave me a desire for ministry.
Following university, I spent some time working in engineering, before moving from the steelworks in Port Talbot to the Civil Service. It was during this time that I married Eve and we moved to Cardiff, where the Lord led us to Redeemer Church. Earlier in 2025 we became a family of three and welcomed our son into the world.
We greatly cherish the relationships we have developed at Redeemer and are extremely thankful for the love of the body of Christ we have experienced here in Splott. The Lord has been kind to rekindle my desire to serve as a Pastor and I do so joyfully at this local church.
Malcolm Firth, Associate Pastor
I grew up in a Christian family, but it wasn’t until I was 15 that God opened my eyes to my need of Jesus Christ. I thought I was a good guy - not drinking, or taking drugs, or stuff like that - but I couldn’t see that in my heart I was proud and arrogant, and wanted to live life my own way. I am so thankful that God pursued me, opened my eyes and changed my heart. I met my wife, Ruth at university in Aberystwyth, and we got married in 1989, and then went to bible college. The Lord led us to Latvia and we spent 26 years there - working with various churches; teaching, training and then church-planting. In 2022 we returned to the UK and settled in Cardiff, and in June 2025, the Lord opened the door for me to serve as associate pastor at Redeemer. We’re enjoying getting to know the people here but what is already evident is that here is a church that loves the bible, seeks to follow Jesus, and enjoys great food together … come and see!
